A Toyota Truck, At Last!!

Ode To Silly Bill

This series of photos I call "Ode To Silly Bill", soon to be a main attraction at the Anchorage Museum. You can find it right next to the "Outhouses Of The North" display on the main level. "smile". Bill, Marquette's proudest fledgling and my photography mentor, can always be counted on to take great action shots.. This is the result when I gave Bill my camera and asked him to make me look good as I climbed my first rock wall...I highly suggest hiring him for any weddings, with embarrassing family members, that you don't want any pictures of..."smile"....thanks buddy "smile".

Rock Climbing with Friends

Soo, I tried to fly to Savoonga but found the flights to be $1000. A bit more than the $400. that I was expecting. I will have to figure out another route to see Taay Taay, but not all was lost. It turned out that my very good friend Bill and his new lady friend (Kate) were in Healy making adventure plans with friends Mark and Karen. My first year in Healy, Bill, Mark, Karen and I played "outdoor wilderness adventurer wannabes" every chance we got..we def. kept each other active and sane. However the next year Bill moved to the bush and it was never the same...I've missed him soo much and haven't seen him since the move... I walked in the door at Mark and Karen's only to see my friend standing there with a big smile...the clan was back together once again (with a new member)...the only thing we could do was to start playing. We had a big waffle, fruit, whip cream breakfast, loaded the raft and headed out for a big morning of rafting the crazy whitewater of the Nennana, had lunch at our pull out (Denali Park Linx Creek Pizza), drove back to Healy to grab rock climbing gear for an afternoon on a fun rock in Denali Park... That night we at homemade cobbler and watched dumb and dumber until we all fell asleep. It was a great day!
