My New Friend Jim

Jim has been abducted by aliens, I'm sure they will send him back to Earth when they get done probing him..in the meantime, I'm moving on with life.

A 10 year dream, realized. Suprise! Guess who owns this lot...Me!!

Ice Climbing In Valdez

I went over to Valdez to try to get in some Spring Heli Skiing ($100 a flight), but due to the snowy conditions the choppers weren't flying, so I went ice climbing with my good friend Josh (mountain guide and wilderness safety superman)instead. Valdez is known for world class ice climbing and back country skiing. This is my second successful climb..I think that I'm getting better at this. It was a lot of fun! Thanks Josh!

My Australian "Mates"

These are my new Australian "Mates", Paul (y) and Chappo. I met them skiing at Aleyska and we just hit it off. They run a summer wilderness outreach program for kids and Paul(y) is the director of "Challenge Australia" (only it's called something different. They were on a 3 week skiing "walk a bout" of Alaska. They were also in need of nice shower and a little time out of their RV, so I invited them to stay at my place for a few days...It was awesome! I had a home cooked meal (Australian style) awaiting for me every night.. I really miss these guys. I've been invited to visit them and see how their program is run this August (not sure if I will have the funds but I'd like to try).

Challenge end of the season party

Challenge Alaska staff, friends, clients, and volunteers have become my true Alaskan family over the years. I am so thankful for all of them. It's always hard to say goodbye at the end of the season but so great to know that I'll see them again soon.
I only had 2 drinks all night, just so everyone knows "smile".

Larry here is from Munising, Michigan (my home stomping grounds)-a true Upper!

Meanwhile back in Alaska tiz still winter -Spring with Challenge Alaska

Tom's parents visited Alaska while I was in California and gave Challenge this award from the State. Please click to read. I'm so glad that he's being honored for the awesome person he was. I'm so proud of him.

I took, am in, was there for, or was apart of 4 of these photos that are now apart of his memorial at Challenge..that makes me feel good.
