Tour of Anchorage X-Country Ski Race

Dan and I decided to tackle the Tour of Anchorage X-Country Ski Race. Well, honestly it was more like this: Dan, set min and hour time goals for himself, spent a lot of time training, figured out the exact snow temps and conditions to wax for, figured wind direction, latest jet stream velocity and it's effect on the race course, spent short of a fortune on super fast wax, bought new skis, boots, bindings, and spent approx 5 hours waxing both of our skis (while carbo loading) the night before the race.
Kirsten: Skied a day or two a few weeks before race, decided to sign up for the race because not only did it sound like fun, but they gave out free (all you can eat) "goo"(yumtastic energy sludge). She spent the night listening to Jack Johnson tunes and nagging Dan to hurry up with the skis so we could play cards. "smile"

Results: Dan finished the 40K with much style and grace in just under his self set goal of 3 hours. Kirsten finished the 25K with not much style and grace in just under her goal of "finish before Dan". Both finished with big smiles and plans to do it again next year.
