Chistmas/New Years 08 Michigan

After a 24 hour flight that included a wild overnight's stay in the Vegas airport, I was able to make it home to Michigan to visit my family for the holiday season. It was a short stay but well worth it. Below are a few photos of my family and life in Michigan. Mom and Phil are UPer's, living in Marquette above the Mackinaw Bridge and my brother is a Troll (living below the bridge in Detriot)...not quite sure about me, living in Alaska (far above the bridge) but def. a Upper by heart. I flew in and out of Detroit but drove the six hours North to Marquette with my brother to visit our mom..much bonding was had..always a good time.

The Gilbert's Dairy Cow. Location of the best ice cream in the world and a favorite family pastime.

Mom and Phil's house sits on beautiful Deer Lake and 1/2 mile from Lake Superior.

Erik chasing away all the bunnies from the forest.

Erik and Pam's first Christmas as a married couple...Their special gift, baby Alberg on the way.

Mackinaw Bridge-Connecting Upper Michigan to Lower Michigan (5 miles across). The Only Connection. Many a Upper has attempted to blow it up to keep the Trolls out, luckily for all those who reside below the bridge, they keep getting distracted by shiny objects and the good ice fishing on Lake Michigan.
